We highly recommend that you print the above linked Printer Friendly Version of our RV Packing List. Note that because the printer friendly version is a PDF file, it will take a few seconds to open. The Printer Friendly Version of our RV Packing List features checkboxes for checking each item, and also has blank spaces at the bottom of each category, where you can write in extras that you think of to customize your recreational vehicle packing list. It is recommended that you print one packing list for each person traveling in the RV, so you can check off each item for each person.

There's nothing like RV Camping for many reasons -- like being able to hit the open road, being in comfort while traveling, being able to visit thousands of locations, many of which are simply unavailable without recreational vehicles, and being able to do it all while enjoying the comforts of your own "home away from home!"

Until they've experienced RV'ing first hand, many folks just don't understand the conveniences and liberties that veteran RV'ers take for granted. For instance, the convenience of having a restroom along for the ride full-time! Or the ability to just pull over almost anywhere and catch some sleep on your own sheets!

One common misconception is that recreational vehicles are only useful for vacations to places like National Parks. In fact, no other vacation option offers as many opportunities for places to stay -- whether your destination is Orlando or Colorado, if there's a hotel nearby, chances are that an RV Park is nearby as well.

RV'ing also opens up many possibilities for travellers. Sure, recreational vehicles can be expensive, but what most people don't think about is the fact that, once you've purchased your RV, much of your vacation "investment" is taken care of for years to come! Staying at RV parks is usually very inexpensive, starting at only a few dollars a night, so once you've purchased your RV, there's very little involved in the way of cost-per-night expenses on a vacation. All of a sudden, it's no longer a question of whether or not you want to pay $1000 for a week's worth of hotel rooms...many times you will be able to spend a week at an RV park -- for about the cost of one night in a hotel room!

Speaking of hotel rooms, there are places accessible for camping in recreational vehicles where hotel rooms are just not an option. Many times when you rent an RV "waterfront" lot, it will be literally a few steps from the water. And there's nothing like watching the sunrise while having breakfast outside your RV in your favorite National Park! RV'ing offers so many things that folks who are contained in the cubicle of a hotel room will never know.

We hope that this RV Packing List will be helpful in making your RV travels go more smoothly. One of the things that does make RV travel different is the requirement to pack items that wouldn't be necessary on other types of trips, so an RV Packing List is pretty much one of the necessities to start with. We recommend that you start packing several days ahead of your trip, packing items that you know you won't need before you leave. Keep your RV Packing List handy, checking off items as you pack, in the days prior to your trip.

Don't forget that your RV Packing List is also handy for the return trip home! There is often much confusion while breaking down camp before returning home, so use your RV Packing List to make sure you don't forget things like cranking down your TV antenna, pulling chocks, and much more.
